Michael Van Dorth
Senior Engineer & Product Designer
Michael holds dual roles as a Senior Engineer and Product Designer at Foster Commerce. He works to bridge the gap between design and development—planning scalable, high-performance data models and collaborating with UI designers to bring their concepts to life in practical, accessible ways.
With a foundation in print and packaging design, Michael began his digital journey in 1996, freelancing as a web developer and UI designer. Shortly after, he co-founded one of Southern Spain’s first web-focused studios, where he specialized in building custom, multilingual CMS platforms and websites for the tourism industry, including hotels, travel agencies, and activity providers.
Michael has been part of the team at Foster Commerce for over a decade, contributing primarily as a developer, with a brief but impactful period as Head of Engineering.
A strong advocate for accessibility and web standards, Michael aims to create digital experiences that are inclusive, robust, and forward-thinking. Whether he's shaping product strategy or diving into code, he focuses on delivering elegant, user-centered solutions that stand the test of time and technology.

Currently Michael lives in Southern Spain with his wife Rogelia where they enjoy frequent trips throughout Europe, the Mediterranean, and North Africa.
When Michael isn't hard at work he putts around town on a '66 Vespa Sprint or, as a fully licensed Yacht Captain, heads out on the water to enjoy a day in the sun.
